Bioremediation

One of the most promising technologies for removing chlorinated solvents or other contaminants from the ground is enhanced bioremediation. This in-situ technology is based on the existence of various strains of bacteria that are capable of breaking down the contaminants. Substrate materials are often injected into the ground in order to enhance this process.

Lactates are well-known and widely applied as substrate materials in (enhanced) bioremediation, especially for chlorinated solvents. Lactates play a crucial role in the food chain for the microorganism responsible for dechlorination.

In the USA, PURAC has formed a partnership with Regenesis. Regenesis will be marketing our products in the bioremediation market. For more information please visit their website www.regenesis.com or contact them at 949-366-8000.
