Tea and tea drinks are widely regarded as being healthy drinks. Calcium fortification, therefore, provides an easy and useful means to further boost this healthy image. PURACAL XPro is a highly soluble calcium source which can be ideally applied in clear ready-to-drink (RTD) tea drinks.

Until now, the possible interaction of calcium with tea ingredients was a difficult challenge to overcome when fortifying an ice tea with calcium. With PURACAL XPro, clear calcium fortified ice tea beverages can be developed.

The calcium fortified ice tea has a clarity comparable to that of an unfortified ice tea. This maintained clarity is a result of both PURAC’s highly soluble PURACAL XPro calcium lactate gluconate and the use of  modified tea extracts. The teas fortified with PURACAL XPro also have a superior and refreshing flavor.
