PURASORB® for cardiovascular
products
PURASORB resorbable polymers are used in vascular
closure devices and in drug-eluting coronary stents. In addition,
medical device companies are developing a new generation of fully
resorbable stents. These developments benefit from the excellent
biocompatibility and biodegradability of PURASORB polymers. The
properties of PURASORB polymers can be tailored to the application
to meet all design criteria of resorbable stents.
PURASORB solutions for cardiovascular devices are
commercially available in our Polylactide platform, our PLGA
(lactide/glycolide copolymers) platform, and our Capro
(lactide/caprolactone copolymers) platform. PURASORB materials can
be processed by conventional processing techniques, such as
extrusion, fiber-spinning, and injection molding, and can be
subjected to different sterilization techniques.
