CSM acquires full ownership of lactid acid plant in Blair (US)

CSM has acquired the remaining 50% of the shares of the lactic acid production facility in Blair,
Nebraska (US) from its joint venture partner Cargill. This production facility has been a joint
venture between CSM's subsidiary Purac and Cargill since 1997.

Purac starts project to produce lactic acid from papermaking waste streams

Purac has signed a contract to participate in a consortium that will develop a process to produce feedstock from cellulosic waste derived from the pulp and paper industry. This feedstock is expected to be usable for production of lactic acid.
